Andy was just a dude from Ohio with a burning desire for cargo pants. So he did what many of us would do in that situation: he ordered them. And that’s when the dream began to unravel.

Andy ordered pants from Rothco, the apparel company. But he accidentally tweeted his dissatisfaction to us, Rothco the creative agency. And while we weren’t the Rothco he wanted, we decided to become the Rothco he needed.

We took the subject of ill fitting pants very seriously and escalated our campaign quickly. Within a day of accidentally receiving the tweet from Andy we had created a website, organised a radio campaign to run on his local radio station in Ohio, composed a charity song, made a music video, and took over a billboard in his local town centre in Columbus, Ohio.

Interest from around the world began flooding in; and global publication Little Black Book along with publications in AustraliaAustralasiaBrazil, the UK and Ireland all joined in on our quest to fix, in the words of Shane O’Brien, this “trans-contintental pants crisis.

What’s great about being an independent creative agency is that we are free to get involved with international issues that strike a chord with us. Andy’s ill fitting pant problem is the perfect example of this.
