This week our Instagram is in the hands of Rothco’s In-house Content Creator Paul Power. Paul grabbed our attention with his candid take on capturing the world around him, and all the weird and wonderful moments he draws inspiration from for his work in Rothco.

Finding Inspiration Close to Home

Often people look outwards for inspiration: they travel, attend talks or read novels with clever titles. For me, inspiration has always come from my friends and family sharing our experiences and knowledge with each other. I’ve drawn from the tours of old monuments my archaeologist parents took us on, my wife showing me how Photoshop works, and Skyping my sister to show off her new nephew. All these moments have inspired me to be who I am today.

Ever since I played with my parent’s old film cameras I’ve always loved telling stories visually. Whether it was making homemade films about vampires with my school friends back in the day, or documenting how to best preserve a historical mosque in Mumbai, or simply capturing everyday moments of my son growing up. It’s the reason I loved our recent campaign for Tesco; Family Makes Us Better. Each of the print images captured a special moment in a family’s life, which resonates with me because when I point a lens at something, it’s not just a photograph, it’s a story.

Check out Paul’s takeover on our Instagram.
