About the person

We are looking for an ambitious, sharp and highly motivated Media Strategy & Investment Manager to join our team of world class media consultants in the Media & Performance Practice at Rothco | Accenture Interactive.

As one of Rothco | Accenture Interactive’s 5 core ‘practices’, the Media & Performance practice delivers a totally transparent, value oriented, performance driven media offering to clients, while embedding the power of creativity and connections thinking into their approach to media.

Our focus is on accelerating our clients’ business growth by maximising their media investment and helping them regain control of their media function.

Due to rapid growth over the last six months we’re seeking to add to the team.

In practical terms, we work with existing and new clients on a variety of media projects, including consulting (first party data, ad tech), planning and investment (media strategy, e-commerce, connections planning, investment management) and deployment/buying (digital media buying and optimisation across search, social and programmatic, SEO, reporting & dash-boarding, analytics).

About the role

We are seeking a mid to senior level Media Strategy & Investment Manager with at least 5 years of experience to join the team and lead media strategy, consulting and investment projects with large clients. This role reports to the Media & Performance Practice Lead but will have significant autonomy.

You will be knowledgeable and have a strong perspective on marketing science and media strategy & planning. You will have deep knowledge of how to help clients get the most value from their media budget, channel synergies and the media landscape. Hands on media planning and buying expertise would be a bonus.

You will have a strong, data driven opinion on how brands should apportion budget by channel.

You will bring an ambition to this role and constantly be searching for new opportunities to deliver returns for our clients.

You will be comfortable with using various tools to analyse data and optimise performance.

You should be constantly curious about consumers; have a deep understanding of consumer behaviour across all media channels and an eye on the future of media.

This role will be client facing and offers a high level of autonomy, so you must be competent to communicate with Marketing Directors and able to manage a project end to end.

This is a ‘consulting’ role, not an Account Management role, so you must bring a business development mindset and be comfortable coming up with ideas, products and services to help clients get the most from their media spend.

In this role you will work closely with the other members of the practice to build a world class media offering. You will have access to the scale, capabilities and media buying power within the wider Accenture Interactive network.

You will also work closely with the other practices, including Strategy and Connections, helping to create world class integrated work.

You will have strong experience with global planning framework and standardised reporting methods.

You will have a strong data driven opinion on how brands should adopt and apportion budgets, by channels and formats.

You will be comfortable with using various tools to analyse data and optimise performance.

You will have strong partnership experience, from sourcing, creating and managing with some of the world’s leading media partners. Partnerships covering content, events, videos and much much more.

You strong understanding of all media channels, we plan for the right message, at the right time and place regardless of channel.

Buying experience is a strong benefit, with an understanding of negotiation tactics and strong investment portfolio management experience. Understanding long-term deals, multi market approach’s and PRIPS.

You will be key POC for our clients on EMEA regional basis, dealing with multiple different stake holders at different levels. Must have the ability to manage and prioritise workloads.

While the role requires an individual, who has a high level of experience in media strategy & investment, candidates must also have respect for and some knowledge of lower funnel tactics, particularly digital performance.

  • Own measurement and tracking requirements for media strategy and be able to show incremental ROI from your recommendations.
  • Connections Planning & Customer Journey Mapping
  • Use your strong understanding of P.O.E. media and channel roles to build world class, creative connections plans.
  • Responsible for ensuring all activity operates 100% ‘no dead ends’ across the consumer journey.

  • Ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research into consumer media habits and perspectives.
  • Lead the wider agency in building connections led thinking into all of our work.
  • Be capable of bringing new channel opportunities to clients.
  • New Business & Practice Growth
  • Build a strong relationship with mid to senior level clients, creating opportunities to expand the agencies relationship.
  • Find ways for the practice to add value within the wider agency, bringing media and performance value to wider ‘creative’ or ‘strategy’ briefs.

  • Look for new revenue opportunities based on existing internal and company-wide skillset.
  • Act as a media expert for the agency, adding value where relevant.

Requirements

  • Technical
  • Hands on experience of media strategy & planning.
  • Experience with or knowledge of econometrics/MMM/attribution models.
  • Be able to create a robust rationale for media investment.
  • Experience guiding clients on media investment decisions.
  • Knowledge of and ability to craft connections/comms plans.
  • Experience of customer journey mapping.
  • Strong knowledge of main marketing science theories.
  • Budget management and commercial experience.
  • Knowledge of digital channels and platforms (social, display, video, PPC etc) understanding the roles each plays within the consumer journey.
  • Respect for creativity and the creative process.
  • Strong knowledge of all major analytics and media planning tools.
  • Highly developed verbal and numerical skills, demonstrated numerate ability.
  • Visionary – have an interesting opinion on the future of media.
  • Comfortable working from the highly strategic to tactical delivery.
  • Creative, integrative thinker - able to pull together multiple viewpoints and understand broader marketing & business problems.

  • Agency experience is a plus.
  • Business development capabilities with strong commercial lens.

  • A Level 8 degree in a relevant area such as Marketing, Digital Marketing, Analytics would be desirable, but we do value aptitude, attitude and relevant experience over qualifications.
